Houston Texans outfit tackle Laremy Tunsil with record deal

The Houston Texans have signed left tackle Laremy Tunsil to a record deal.

Loud ESPN Tunsil has agreed to a three-year contract extension that will net him $75 million. The 28-year-old is the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL.

With an annual salary of $25 million, Tunsil beats the previous record of San Francisco’s Trent Williams by two million a season.

“I want to reorganize the market,” Tunsil told ESPN in December. “Everything fits together in terms of my contract and my performance. Everything fits together perfectly.”

Tunsil’s performances last season were among the best in the NFL. His pass block success rate (92.0 percent) was the 12th best among offensive tackles. He only allowed one sack (2nd place) and twelve pressures (3rd).

Also on Sunday, it was announced that the Texans would trade wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Dallas Cowboys for two draft picks.
