The Dallas Cowboys are getting loud ESPN Trade wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texas in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 sixth-round pick.
Both parties negotiated the 29-year-old during last year’s trade window but failed to reach an agreement at the time.
Last year, the Cowboys traded Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick. The only replacements they brought in were James Washington via free agency and Jalen Tolbert in the third round.
Washington broke his foot in training camp, before his release he failed to catch a pass in two games. Rookie Tolbert only caught two passes.
With Cooks, the Cowboys are now adding Pro Bowlers Cee Dee Lamb and Michael Gallup to their receiver corps.
For Cooks, who turns 30 in September, the Cowboys are the fifth NFL stop after the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots and the Texans. So far in his career he has caught 8,616 yards and 49 touchdowns.
