Jesse Marsch has been fired as coach of English Premier League club Leeds United after a year.
The former head coach of cup winners RB Leipzig has to go because of the threat of relegation, due to a defeat at Nottingham Forest on Sunday (0-1) the Whites slipped down to 17th place in the table.
The American Marsch, who was fired in Leipzig in 2021 as the successor to Julian Nagelsmann after only five months, inherited the Argentinian Marcelo Bielsa from Leeds at the end of February 2022. The 49-year-old saved the club from relegation.
In 21 games this season, Leeds have won just four under Marsch. Most recently there was no threesome in seven games in a row.
