Marco Asensio apparently leaves Real Madrid

Marco Asensio has apparently decided not to renew his contract with Real Madrid, which expires in the summer, and leave Los Blancos at the end of the season. This is reported by the Spanish portal Relevo.

Accordingly, Real and the management have been in talks about a contract extension since December and the Spanish international would actually have liked to stay with the Madrid. But Asensio did not get beyond the role of noble joker in the second half of the season and now wants a new sporting challenge.

Due to his expiring contract, the 27-year-old has been repeatedly linked with top European teams. FC Bayern’s interest was reported, but several top clubs from the Premier League and Paris Saint-Germain are said to have put out feelers to Asensio.

Asensio has already played 50 games this season, but mostly only came off the bench. The attacking star contributed 12 goals and eight assists.
