With Sebastian Beccacece, FC Elche has signed their sixth coach this season.
The 42-year-old Argentinian follows Pablo Machin, who was released on Monday, at the bottom of the table from the Spanish Primera Division.
Francisco Rodriguez and Jorge Almiron had previously been fired. Alberto Gallego and Sergio Mantecon also held the post for one and two games respectively between the terms of office of Beccacece’s predecessors.
In 20th place, Elche is more points behind a non-relegation zone (14) than the club has scored points themselves (13). Beccacece, who has never looked after a club in Europe before, celebrates his debut against leaders FC Barcelona after the international break.
