FC Barcelona apparently has three candidates for right-back position

FC Barcelona does not see themselves well positioned at the back right and therefore wants to do something in the summer. There are probably three transfer candidates.

FC Barcelona reportedly have three transfer candidates who could strengthen the Catalans’ understaffed right-back position. This is according to the Spanish sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo Benjamin Pavard (Bayern Munich), Thomas Meunier (Borussia Dortmund) and Diogo Dalot (Manchester United).

Barça only has one trained right-back, Sergi Roberto, at right back. Ronald Araújo and Jules Koundé had to help out there during the course of the season.

The signing of a new player at Barça will probably depend on the league’s financial requirements in the summer as well. As league boss Javier Tebas recently announced, the Catalans are not allowed to be active on the transfer market before the coming season due to their high level of debt.

Should this change, Meunier would probably be the cheapest option. The Belgian’s contract with BVB runs until 2024, but he is currently only a substitute behind Marius Wolf.

Benjamin Pavard before Bayern whereabouts

For a long time, Pavard looked like a departure from Munich, but after a few appearances in central defence, the Frenchman appears to have settled for an extension at Bayern. His contract runs until 2024.

Dalot is a regular at United. According to the report, the club wants to extend him in the long term, and recently drew an option that binds the Portuguese to the Red Devils until 2024. Dalot himself is said not to be sure what the right step is for him.
