Laporte is still under contract with City until 2025, but is unhappy with his current situation there. After missing the first few weeks of the current season with an injury, the 28-year-old has not yet been able to regain his regular place and only plays irregularly. Nathan Aké and Rúben Dias are usually given preference by coach Pep Guardiola over Laporte, who has only made 15 appearances this season.
