Felix Sturm, former boxing world champion in the super middleweight division, fights against the Turk Sükrü Altay in his renewed comeback. This was announced by the agency 24passion on Monday. In “Sturm Kampfnacht” on February 18th in Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena, Sturm and Altay will fight the main fight.
“Of course, at the age of 44, I still count myself among the best boxers in Germany,” said Sturm: “And among the few who have top international stature.” Sturm last lost to Hungarian Istvan Szili in March 2022 after serving a prison sentence and did not rule out the end of his career.
The preliminary program to the event in Stuttgart will include a charity boxing match by former WBF heavyweight world champion Francois Botha (54). The “White Buffalo” had also been crowned World Champion against Axel Schulz in Stuttgart 27 years ago, but had to relinquish the title immediately afterwards because of doping.
